Pets

With the current spell of hot weather, it is important to take extra care of pets during warmer temperatures. The Met Office, in partnership with the BVA, has issued helpful advice on keeping pets safe in hot weather.

The RSPCA also provide guidance on avoiding heat-related risks during exercise, including important information on walking dogs safely in warm weather.

As we move into the summer holidays, many owners may be planning to travel abroad with their pets. It is important to check the latest requirements before travelling. You can find the official government guidance on taking your pet abroad here.

Looking ahead, National Dog Photography Day takes place on Sunday 26 July. This can be a fun opportunity to engage with your clients by encouraging them to share photos of their dogs on your social media channels.

Farm Animals

With rising temperatures, livestock also require additional care during hot weather. The RSPCA provide useful advice on keeping farm animals safe in hot conditions.

Equine

For horse owners travelling abroad this summer, it is important to ensure horse passports and travel documentation are up to date. You can find official government information on horse passports here.
